What is your heritage?

Born in Dalat, Vietnam. I came to the US (Hayward, CA) when I was 12 years old with my family (my older brother and parents).

How important is celebrating culture and/or AAPI Month to you?

It’s extremely important to me. When I first came to this country, my focus was about fitting in. Everything was different for me – the language, the people, the culture. For a decade or more, fitting in was a main focus for me, and my cultural identity was in the background. Now, it’s much more in the foreground.

How would you describe the work environment at County Federal, in terms of being inclusive and diverse?

The demographic at CF is good at embracing diversity. I have always been comfortable expressing myself and have never had issues talking about anything. Everyone has been welcoming; for example, when talking about ethnic food.
