2026 Volunteer Board of Director Election
For the 2026 election, there is one vacancy on our seven-person Volunteer Board of Directors. In accordance with our bylaws, the Nominating Committee has nominated one candidate for this open position. Our bylaws state that when there is only one nominee for each position to be filled, the election will not be conducted by ballot. Nominations cannot be accepted from the floor. Therefore, the following nominee will be elected by acclamation.
Nominee for the Board of Directors
Mr. Peter Ng has been an integral part of Mirastar Federal Credit Union since 2000, first serving on the Supervisory Committee before joining the Board of Directors in 2001. He served as Board Chair from 2016 to 2023, bringing steady leadership, dedication, and deep financial expertise to the organization.
Mr. Ng retired in 2012 after a 29-year career in public service with multiple organizations, including the County of Santa Clara, the City of Sunnyvale, and the Santa Clara Valley Water District. He began as an Accountant with Santa Clara County, later serving the City of Sunnyvale as a Supervising Accountant.
He returned to the County of Santa Clara and went on to hold financial management and executive leadership roles, including Financial Administrative Services Manager in the Executive Office. At the Water District, he served as Deputy Administrative Officer overseeing the budget before becoming CFO of Finance and Strategic Planning. He concluded his career as Employee Benefits Director for Santa Clara County, serving a workforce of 16,000 employees and 9,000 retirees, ultimately retiring in that role and from public service in 2012.
Mr. Ng holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from San Jose State University. He continues to provide invaluable guidance and strategic direction to Mirastar as a long-serving Board member and current Board Secretary.
Nomination by Petition Information
Nominations for vacancies may also be made by petition. Petitions must be signed by at least 1% of the members eligible to vote and received by 5 PM PST, February 2, 2026.
Each petition nominee must:
- Be at least 18 years of age and a member of Mirastar Federal Credit Union.
- Submit a brief statement of qualifications and biographical data.
- Provide a statement agreeing to the nomination and confirming their willingness to serve, if elected.
